Here's something to get ya through another funky Sunday. The skies are cry'n and I'm in a mellow mood,  kick'n back doin' the day on cruise control. Tomorrow's another week at the foundry. I've been working overtime hours ever since I rotated back to swing shift and now there's gonna be even more overtime hours. Production's way up and that translates into a heavier work load for the maintenance crew. Seems us millwrights are in short supply and we're gettin' spread real thin on the busy nights. It's a hard ride, but when the eagle flies on Friday it makes me smile and realize the long hours are worth it.
    Still, sometimes I wonder what it's like for the wealthy folks live'n high in the West Hills, deriving their income off the backs of us that work for a live'n. But then I stop and realize that live'n in those fancy gated communities with the fine trimmed lawns and the pool in back is a kind of self-imposed prison. Think I'll take the life I got and die know'n I have some things money can't buy. The true measure of success is not so much what is accumulated, but rather what is shared with others. I'll sell some of my time, but never my spirit and my soul.

Monday sorta slipped past me today and now my night at the foundry is done and I'm sittin' here listenin' to some good blues and contemplating another day of living. I'm in a peaceful, easy mood and this old Stevie Ray tune says it perfectly for me. Here's hoping you all feel much the same.
