Living and Dying in 5/4 Time

 Love Is Like An Ocean

Love is like an ocean.
Some never venture past the shore
Frozen with galvanizing fear of water.

Love is like an ocean.
Some choose to wade in the shallow water
And let the water touch them only slightly.

Love is like an ocean.
Some set sail with navigatonal maps
And a strong sense of minute detail.

Love is like an ocean.
Some set sail, lose themselves in the magic of the sunrise And disappear quietly over the rail. Love is like an ocean. Some set sail, eyes fixed and new.
Sailing is just what they do.

Love is like an ocean.
High seas, moonlight breeze and a longing deep inside.
A gentle pull, like a Pacific Tide.

Love is like an ocean.
Passionate ebbs and flows,
Crests of pleasure and valleys deep and low.

Love is like an ocean.
It is my soulmate standing next to me,
As we set sail for the mysteries...
That only she and I will ever see.

Love is like an ocean.

 Musician's Dilemna

So many melodies, so little time.
Tunes running endlessly....
Over and over again throughout my mind.

I wait for the mood to move to my hands
But my mind resists.
A riff of augmented ninth chords....
And now my hands cease and desist.

Frustration flows like molten lava.
Inspiration struggles to be free...
Disappearing in a blazing super nova.

My fingers caress the keys.
My mood ebbs and flows....
Like waves riding on the seas.

So many melodies, so little time.

 A Simple Wish

A simple wish from Captain Morgan to his friends on the Stream. May the new week and the new month bring us new perspective and the special magic of friendship shared by all of us here on the Stream.

 A Question If I May

To those who deeply profess their religious convictions I ask a simple question regarding the one known as Squash; what would the one you call Jesus say?

 For What It's Worth

My last post stated that I intended to deactivate my blog and move on to other pursuits. I considered exploring other blog sites. My decision was made BEFORE reading the post regarding Squash. I would never have known about this had it not been brought to my attention by others on the Stream.
I watched as blogger after blogger lined up to add their thoughts. Through it all I read and reread the owner of the blog site insist that she had PROOF of the accusations presented in the post. I was puzzled. If the proof is at hand why not post it? Allow me to read it for myself and make a rational decision. Anyone who knows me even remotely knows full well my attitude toward molestation, rape and abuse. And anyone who knows me even in passing knows I firmly believe in making my own determinations. I don't blindly follow ANYONE. I don't expect anyone to follow me.
I came to the Stream with a simple premise: Walk alongside me. Share thoughts and ideas and hopes and dreams and fears and concerns. Peacefully disagree on occasion, respect the beliefs and customs of others on the Stream and treat all who I encounter on the Stream as part of my extended family. Along the way I have encountered those whose primary agenda is to influence what others believe. It is to be expected. The Stream, after all is really something of a mental petrie dish. I have also encountered those who are quick to castigate those who hold views counter to theirs. Also to be expected. But.....to read comments such as this? "Sometime a good public lynching is needed."
Earlier this evening one of my Streamer friends, someone I trust implicitly shared much of the text of what Squash posted. I am satisfied that he is, in fact, someone who perpetrated a horrible crime on an incredibly innocent victim. Trust me when I say I understand more than most about this type of behavior. The woman I love dearly is haunted to this day by the molestation she suffered god damn near fifty years ago.
And so here we are at the end of a thoroughly unpleasant week-end. I have seen the worst that BlogStream has to offer and I've seen the best that BlogStream has to offer. I have learned a great deal in the past twenty-four hours.
To those who blindly follow what is posted without fact or corroboration I say this: What will you do when one day you are falsely accused? Squash, by his own admission is a child molester. Fine. He served his time and is now identified in this medium for what he is. We have all said our peace about the vile deeds he perpetrated. That is as it should be. What is NOT as it should be is comments such as what were made in the past twenty-four hours. Contrary to what some might believe, I find it reprehensible that a public lynching is EVER needed or to be condoned.
