Living and Dying in 5/4 Time

The Convergence of Destiny And Chemistry

Love comes in all flavors, shapes and sizes. It comes sometimes wrapped in amazing colors, sometimes just familiar browns and blues.
Love is impossible to quantify. Impossible to describe in terms we can all agree on. There are those who search endlessly for the love they yearn for. They search in all the usual places. No romantic stone is left unturned. It is a constant ebb of passion and solitude. True love is a magical convergence.
It's like a blacksmith working hot metal with a hammer and an anvil. Simple tools, simple techniques producing exquisite results. Cast into the fire of adversity, the sadness and the loneliness, the tears and the long sleepless nights begin to soften. Drawn from the fire, an amazing transformation begins. Destiny, as tough and resilient as stainless steel blends with the magic of chemistry and love, the love known only to soulmates, materializes. It is magic at it's finest moment. That amazing point in time. That mystical merging..... a convergence of destiny and chemistry.

 Night Riders

The heavy sound of thunder
Echoing down the walls
Somewhere deep in Chago Canyon

Night riders come'n
Fear and trepadation
Coursing through my veins

An endless and headlong ride
Night riders come'n on
My eyes peer through the darkness

A moonless night
As I struggle with my fright
Night riders in the sky

Feet the weight of lead
Fleeting thoughts fill my head
A strong sense of dread

Night riders come'n ever closer
A long and silent stare
A hand extended
And an invitation to share

Night riders and me
Sharing a fire Under the seven tree
Night riders, them and me

Searching, always searching
Sun and wind and rain
Souls enduring years and years of pain
Kindred spirits in an infinite sky

Night riders, them and I

 How Powerful Are You??

Your Power Level is: 80%
You're a very powerful person, and you know that all of your power comes from within.
Keep on doing what you're doing, and you'll reach your goals.
How Powerful Are You?

This one makes me a bit uncomfortable. I view myself as just someone sailing the seas the best way I know how, putting into port when I feel the calling and just living my life in a simple, easy way. Maybe this quiz uncovered the reality that the heart of the bear beats inside me. In that context, maybe it's more accurate than I realize. And so my Streamer Friends, how powerful are you?

 A Matter Of Trust

I've spent most of my life trying to learn and understand human nature. It's like collecting jars of air. It is a science. Those who consider themselves "mental health professionals" would surely insist it is a reasonably exact science. Maybe it is. I tend to disbelieve that assertion, but I would surely agree there is much about human behavior and emotion that holds immense fascination for me.
Among the many esoteric thoughts flooding through my muddled mind involves the ability to trust. I'm frequently chastised for "being too trusting". But isn't that a bit like saying "too much love" or "too much happiness"? I do trust easily. That doesn't mean I'm going to walk into a crowded bar, and throw my wallet on the counter and walk away. I said I was trusting, not stupid.
Maybe it's a matter of karma. I have trusted many times and on balance I've seldom been betrayed. When I was, it hurt deeply. I found myself bitter and disillusioned. It passed and I returned to my roots, allowing myself to trust again. What if it's not so much a lack of trust as it is a lack of self-confidence? What if life has been such that you assume you were born under a bad sign. Born to a life of sadness, devoid of love. What would seem like distrust would really be the inability to believe that happiness and love and safe passage on life's highway could ever really happen.
All of this mental rambling has led me to wonder. I've made many good friends here on the Stream. Many of you know me from my blog posts. I have trusted all of you with my posts as I shared much of who and what I am, much of my life and many of my hopes, dreams and fears. Anyone who reads my profile will find my given name, where I live and my e-mail address. I have no wish to be anonymous. It's a matter of trust. And so I ask, my Streamer friends. Would you trust Captain Morgan to lead you across a busy street with your eyes tightly shut?
